    Gandolfi 8x10 reducing back, questions

    Hello,

On the inside of the reducing back is an indentation (17 x 18,5 cm) with small clamping bows around it.
There are also two small screws and some white marks. (see picture)
Anybody ideas were that might be for.
I can only come up with that you could put a filter there.

I bought it as a 5x7 reducing back but a 5x7 holder will not fit I think, the dimensions of the glass, (the actual framing) are 11,4 x 15,9cm, (4. 1/2 x 6. 1/4 inch).
The outer size of the film holder would have to measure 15 x 21,5 cm or 6 x 8,5 inch. Is that the outer size of a 5x7 holder?

    Kees.
