Light leaks in Chamonix 8x10 wet plate holder

Hi guys
I've noticed some light leaks developing in my chamonix 8x10 wet plate holder from the light trap. Is there any special repairing method for a chamonix wooden plate holder? Can it be done... they are a little expensive to just replace the whole unit.
My alternative at the moment is to just remove the darkslide and expose under the dark cloth.

i am not sure what they use for a light trap but you should be able to remove the face plate to access the trap.
it might just need cleaning. i know that my light traps will get sticky if you get too much silver on the darkslide.
