its the technique developed and perfected by William Mortensen to work out tonality quirks in photographs, similar to what dodge&burn is, but performed differently , using etching and abrasion.

Aye, i keep looking for new ones, but i have made about 5 ones that i keep coming back to. Wish i could buy Mortensen's ones, but alas - not a chance
