Wollensak Vitax No.5 & Ilexpo Shutter Question

Wollensak Vitax No.5 & Ilexpo Shutter Question

I have picked up in the last month a Wollensak Vitax No. 5 and in the last week an Agfa Ansco Studio No.5 and a Century Studio 9A both with an Ilexpo Shutter.

I am at time moment making lens boards for my large lens to use with the two studio cameras. My question is, the Vitax has a diameter of 4.5” and the Ilexpo shutter has a opening of 4.25”, will this 1/4” difference cause vignetting or no effect. I would rather not waste my time making a lens board to fit the Ilexpo and just make a 9” board for the Vitax.

    Thanks for the advice,
    Jimmy

At that location, it will cause a little vignetting/loss of coverage, and diminish your maximum aperture a little.

    Mark,

Thank you... I thought so, I wanted to ask someone more knowledgeable than myself. I am new to using theses large/older lens. I am off to make a 9x9 lens board.

    Cheers,
    Jimmy
