My guess is light leaks at the edges where the dark slide meets the holder. Never never never allow direct sunlight to hit your film holders. Always always always find some way to keep them in shade at all times and even then move as quickly as is practicable until you can immediately move them to total darkness.

The patch at 4 o'clock looks to have coma flare. Would this happen by Holder leak, or is it more likely to have come from a pin-hole or lens flare?

The sun is located far to the left at 9 o'clock and nothing highly reflective is in the scene. I don't see how it could be lens flare. Pin holes look very different than this. I still vote for leaks between the dark slide and holder.

Here's another theory - it's not a light leak and not a flare problem. Consider a processing problem where the white areas were in contact with another piece of film or with something in the tank/drum. Those parts don't get developed and end up as large blobs of undeveloped or cleared areas of film. So I'm guessing it was a one-time processing problem.

Light leak, but it may not be EITHER film holder or camera but BOTH film holder and camera. It looks like the holder may have not been seated completely when in the camera back. Is the holder a little distorted? Does the holder fit snugly in the camera back?

    Light leak?
The film was old too, had been sitting in the holder for 3 months.

    help..
It would be helpful to know if this was color negative or positive film.

Here's what a pinhole light leak in the upper right rear corner of the bellows looks like for a point of comparison:

The pinhole acted just like a pinhole lens - capturing an image of the branches above the camera along with the light fogging pattern.
