Hi ! Foma has nothing to see with the tone, it is traditional black and white film.
Originally this serie was lith printed by contact at Forte paper.

Then I scanned the negatives and toned them in LightRoom as close as I could
to original lith prints. Hope this helps.

Hello Iga ..... thanks for your interest.

The actual wrist-watch mechanism is about one inch across. Shot with Leica M240 and R series 60 macro lens with bellows. I do not have the equipment to make an enlarged negative like this with film. Converted to monochrome and digital negative made on Epson 3880 with the standard K3 inkset, black ink only. Negative made approximately 8 inches square because my recently acquired UV printing machine only does up to 8 x 12 inches comfortably. I wanted a square crop.

Tissue made with 10% gelatin, 5% sugar, sod benzoate as preservative and india ink, some blue and a little red ink to give the " metallic " shade I wanted. Poured on old x-ray film to about 1.5 mm thick, constrained with magnetic strips to stop the glop running everywhere. Dried for 3 days. Sensitized with Pot dichromate/acetone mix using a firm roller, dried 2 hours, then exposed. After one test print I guessed exposure at 6 minutes which luckily gave me the contrast I needed. I am trying to learn how to control the amount of relief in the final print. I would have preferred more relief than I ended up with.

Transferred to fixed out, old Ilford Multigrade III RC paper.

I made it for a Camera Club competition titled ( strangely enough ) ...... " Photo made at close distance "

The elegance of Carbon transfer has me hooked. Much to learn.

Interesting, it almost looks like it could be an abstract of a plant or grasses.

    Very good, tuco.

    Significant DoF. What aperture?
