    images intentionally printed negative

I've tried this a couple times when the negative looked neat, but it never worked out for me in the print. I'm curious if anyone else has had better luck.

    Solarization also counts.

    hi diversey

not sure what you mean by a negative and print are not equal ... i think they are in many ways.

i have made negative-prints ( contact printing the positive to make the negative ), which were my final prints.
they looked like pencil drawings. currently i make retina prints and they are my final image, a negative.

i am also involved with a series of retina prints which i make contact prints, and cyanotypes and scans of
and the retina print is also part of the series and very much an equal with the other images.

it is very dangerous to make generalizations because often times they are not true.

I have seen negative prints of abstracts by Howard Bond and some of them looked very cool. I have thought about giving it a try, but I have not come across a negative of mine that would be suitable.

I tried this about 6 months ago, but you've inspired me to try again. The first is a semi-serious attempt, the second is sort of for fun:

By the way, yesterday I came across this image, which is a negative of this sort:

What size internegative are you using?

I like them both! They illustrate the potential of the technique. Since I am currently purely a darkroom worker I am also interested if it's better to make a film interneg or to contact print a paper print. I have done both before in other contexts.

Sure, have a nice one I used in one of my artists' books Twenty-Six Roadkills. It is not LF, but here it is..

You just have to test different images to see how they work. If it works, go with it.

    Both very cool!

I have one image I did as a negative. I'll have to look it up and post it.
