    Nicely done, Jonathan.

I know you guys are joking (except you, Peter, I hope!), but one of the best things about sharing one's work is seeing how other people react to it. Your responses made me laugh, which is great.

Here's the backstory on this: I tend to keep weird things around longer than I should, and in this case I had made fresh bread at Christmas for stuffing and ripped about half of it up when, due to circumstance, I was forced to abandon that effort. The bread and its pieces sat in a bowl on my kitchen windowsill for months. My wife kept telling me to throw it out but I was fascinated by how it never got moldy or rotten, it simply dried out. Finally I thought I should use it as a photo prop before tossing it, which I did.

I wish I could say I had some plan in mind, but all I did was play with the bread and bits until something looked interesting to me. My wife is now happy that the bread has been composted, and I'm happy to have a photo to commemorate the lost Christmas stuffing of 2014.

Neat story. Love how photos have memories/stories often attached to them.

I have a really bad memory, but can look at my images and almost always remember when/where/the occasion they were taken.
Perhaps, that is why I subconsciously am drawn to photography. It provides me something that I generally cannot on my own, because I forget.

Boy, can I relate to that. My memory is atrocious, and the process of photographing helps serve as an anchor for my memories. I can clearly remember the last time I photographed flowers in earnest. It was in September of 2012 when some friends came to visit and brought us a bouquet. If it weren't for the time I spent photographing those blooms there is no way I could tell you when those friends had been here.
