    Pictures from a battered Pinkham

    It seems no matter how beat up the Pinkham Smith lens is, it can still make outlandishly lovely images.

    YMMV but I think the catch words that get bandied about regarding Pinkham's lenses are not just hyperbole.

    Jim, the rendering is beautiful, but the combination of subject, light, perspective, diaphragm, composition and presentation is what makes the image what it is, as usual.

    I think that the lens is the lesser of all these qualities, at least at this scale, on my monitor. Wish I could see the print.
