    Light box/table opinions

I have a need for a light table/box. I was intending to get a simple box with a frosted glass and a couple florescent tubes. But in searching for these I found that these boxes as with most of the gear I used in the past, have changed. There are a couple brands that are LED backlit. Some run off batteries and come with a recharger. These appeal to my interest as they are mobile and light. These are actually trace pads that connect to computer via a USB port though I doubt I would be tracing anything on it.

This is where I am leaning towards for a light box.

I am just interested in what some of you use.
    Regards

I got a really nice Normlicht unit a few years back from a fellow I used to assist for. Not too big, about 16x24" in total. Not super portable, but it wasn't really designed to be anyhow. It's a professional, color balanced light table which was designed for photographic use. If you're only shooting b/w and/or color negatives, and not transparency film, then a fully color-corrected light box is probably a waste in the end. Scanning and proper monitor calibration is more important these days for most people I'd imagine, since most are scanning their film, especially color.

But having nice tools is pretty much always a blessing, even if you don't utilize all of their potential, it's nice to know that you're the factor, not the tools

And it makes a great 8x10 enlarger head!

Very bright, battery pack is available.

I have a Porta Trace and it is crap by comparison. I USED to like it, but no more.

I just need something to view the negs/posi before I scan.
I saw those Randy. They look nice
    I was looking at this.

It is thin. Easily held in a lap then set aside.

I don't think it has batteries though.

    Always check CL.

I got one of these for $20 and the guy loaded my van, as I could not help. It's clean and holds eight 11x14's.

    Very handy for ULF.

I see the Hulon uses 1/2 the power of Artogragh. Power=light. Even with LED.

It is big, but the 2 light boxes are removeable and can either be put on a wall or table.

    Even nice for roll film...

I ordered the Huion A4. I am not sure what the L4S is. They look the same but the L4S is not as bright as the A4.
