I have a recent model of the above enlarger with a cable/electric plug coming out of the base. There's also a toggle switch on the base. any idea what this is for?

Interesting discovery, there's a small safelight built into the base of the column!
Where is the "This Thread Is Useless Without Pictures" icon...
Is there even such a thing as a "recent" model of an Elwood enlarger? :-)
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

Yes, when it has an 'Evan Clarke' mod with a new LED light panel head, like I am doing, as we pause our hectic tinkering.
That's modern!

OK. Just getting DR back into operational mode, although MUCH smaller. I'll share a few pix of the new space with this enlarger.
Oh, the stuff I have given away. Has anyone had an emotional purge before. It's painful and liberating at the same time.
8x10 enlarger, full size dryers, 20x24 print washers, etc.
Sigh.
Hello,
I have come into possession of an Elwood 5x7 englarger and looking for a good home for it. It belonged to my mother in law, I believe she got in the 1940's and has been sitting in her basement all these years.
I've tried to find someone who would take a look at it and tell us if it's worth anything. The lamp still works and we still have the manual that came with it. I am just looking for some guidance how to find someone who might be interested in it or if its even worth anything. We would love to see it go to a good home as apposed to just dumping it in the trash. Here are two pictures of it, sorry they aren't very good.
I am located in the Minneapolis area.
Any help would be appreciated on how to find someone we could talk to about it.

Well, I have two 5X7 Elwoods in Chicago, which I got from Detroit.
They never sell for much.
Your's looks nice.
Somebody here may want it.
Please do not trash it quickly, they are fairly rare, but not worth much now. I think they may be worth a little more in a decade or two.
Please wait 30 days and after 30 days you can put it on the for sale thread.
I am willing to talk on the phone, chat here, or in a PM.

Sheesh, they never show up close to me
Ohhh, I am close. I would love one of these!
