    Timeline of Historical Film Colors

    Hi everyone,

I am a researcher from Switzerland and I found your forum as a result of a search for interpositive.

My current project focuses on colors in film and still photography, and I have created an online resource to document the various color processes:

Timeline of Historical Film Colors: http://zauberklang.ch/filmcolors/

I am interested in any kind of feedback or suggestions related to my work.

This is a very complete research site. I'm just going through it now, but it's impressive!

Is Kodacolor neg/positive from 1942 considered different from Kodachrome?

I am half embarrassed to, as it's wiki.

Ah, ok, I have only the Kodacolor lenticular film in my database, since the Kodacolor negative/positive process was not used in film production, as far as I know.

The Wikipedia posting shows very clearly why we need a more reliable resource...

Agfacolor was the first negative/positive process and it was also used for still photography.

Kodachrome (like most of the processes with "chrome" in their names) is a reversal process for slides and movies In fact the first chromogenic three-color process introduced was Kodachrome, which was invented in 1935.

See the development of chromogenic processes here.

All the information posted on Timeline of Historical Film Colors stems from original technical papers and scientific resources.
