Wow, i wasn't aware that you could pull such good shadow detail and lower the contrast with x-ray film to this degree, this is a beautiful shot!!

Also, forgive me for not knowing much about the Europe and sizes, but this is basically a 9 x7 image? Or is this one of those odd sizes that's specific to x-ray film?

It is one of the standard european film sizes, a bit smaller than 8x10 (7,08x9,45 INCH). You can still buy Fomapan & Ilford films in that size. The modern film holders are the same size as 8x10 (just like 5x7 and 13x18cm film holders are the same). As to film, I did some tests, and I rate it 25ISO, and develop it using a Jobo print Drum on a Jobo processor. I am developing two sheets at a time in D23 (dilution 1:1.3 150ml of stock and 200ml of water) for 4minutes 30 seconds

Wait, let me get this straight, so if I own an 8x10 (10x8 for you cheeky folk) I can buy 18x24 film holders, but they will fit in my 8x10 back as the size of the holder is the same? Only the slots inside the holder are different? Is that right?

And then use this size film (which doesn't seem to come in 8x10) in my 8x10 camera?

I cannot be 100% sure, as I have an east german camera that has it's own glass plate holders, and I shoot negatives using special film insert, but from what I've heard (and the internet says it too) the 8x10in and 18x24cm modern holders have the same outer size.
