Vintage Lupe

I have seen a few of these lupes for sale lately.
Auswerte Lupe 12 x made by Schneider Göttingen FL

I was wondering if they would be any good for a focusing lupe?

Apparently the Luftwaffe used these to examine aerial photos for bombing purposes. Now which Tube station did we get last night, Heinrich?
I too am looking for a loupe, but would prefer not to use some ex-Nazi item.

12x is likely to be much to powerful. Have you tried using a pair of +3 or +3.25 reading glasses?

I have a Wista 5x loupe. I was thought these things looked neat. My glasses are way beyond reading glasses but age has caught up with my eyes. One size does not fit all anymore.
