Medium wide angle lens for 4x5 Deardorff?

    Hello experts!
I have been living in Italy for over 40 yrs working with a 5x7 Deardorf. This format, which in Europe used to be used a lot, is falling by the wayside because the film
manufacturers are leaning more towards 4x5 or 8x10 film.
As I will have to begin using my 4x5in. reducing back on the same Deardorf, I would like to know what lens corresponds to the 150mm on the 5x7in camera? I use this
lens for most of my pictures and would like to have the same rapport on the 4x5. The 150mm I use on the 5x7 is a Schneider Super Symmar XL with amazing coverage.
What would the corresponding lens be for a 4x5 in terms of quality too?
    Many thanks for any suggestions.
    Kindest wishes,
    George Tatge

The 110mm Schneider Super Symmar XL would be a sensible replacement.

A 210mm lens on 5x7 is the "normal" focal length. Approx. equal to a 150mm lens on 4x5.

A 150 is slightly wide for 5x7, and you have a high-quality 150 in the SS XL.
The equivalent for 4x5, roughly, would be in the 110mm-125mm range.

Jason's 110 SS XL is a great choice, as would be a Grandagon 115; both are top-quality lenses, the Grandagon being the bulkier of the two, and both offer excellent coverage.

You might also consider a 120mm Super-Symmar HM. It has more than ample coverage for 4x5, but less than the 110SSXL or 115 Grandagon, reducing the amount of non-imaging light bouncing around in the bellows. The 120 is a bit longer than the 110, but almost exactly the same weight, and like the 110 takes 67mm filters.

All three of these lenses will offer a field of view very comparable to the 150SSHM on 5x7.

How about one of those 3 lenses?

Macro lens has huge IC but is that only with 1:1? Also Macro lens is not good used as a standard lens?
