    Darkroom Web Site Opens

Yesterday's email brought a message from localdarkroom.com, a brand-new worldwide registration site for folks who have darkrooms and would like to share them--or want a darkroom to use--or offer instruction. This came out of a survey that Ilford did last fall. I immediately registered my darkroom. This is a wonderful Christmas present for those of us who use film, or who are interested in something-darkroom. Take a look at the site: register if you're interested: and spread the word.

    Merry Christmas to all!

    Al

I guess the 7 day silence is over. A slow start but improving daily.

Well it sure is a good idea!

But I spent a frustrating 10 minutes trying to set markers on maps and registering!

I did not find it too bad, but at first I was 1 of 2 private darkrooms in the world. Felt very lonely!

The map thing is clumsy and my mouse makes it zoom back and forth uncontrollably.

I am TIN CAN COLLEGE, Chicago. It's a long story...

hmmm. so, I know of a local darkroom, 'The Darkroom' at DeBug.

Lenzen and Stockton in San Jose, they are highly rated by photographers I know and respect.

but for me to 'register' that darkroom on that site, I had to claim 'ownership', not sure I'd do that.

well worth a call or an email to them...

as others have said, it wasn't easy using the map, but once signed up seems pretty good! let's see what kind of use it gets!
