Sail number 59285 was Strait Shot if I recall correctly. Friends of mine owned that boat for a few years and I raced on it quite a bit. We had a lot of fun and won a few races.

Austin - those pilings were one of the earliest 4x5 shots I ever took. My father had been a shipbuilding inspector at Portland in WWII, and was appreciative of the print. But I loaded my filmholders in a furnace closet back then, and the neg required a miserable amount of spotting. I always enjoy your shots.

Small world. The S.O.P. was a fun, party weekend.

The El: Brings back memories. In 1962, I used to take it from The Bronx where I grew up to Wall Street where I had my first full time job. It use to be freezing in the train when the heat wasn't working but it was so crowded, people gave off enough heat. But the windows would be frozen on the outside and ice cold to the feel as you peered out of it at the snow on the tracks and tops of buildings.
