Very nice distribution of trees through the frame! The dark & darker tones make it interesting, but I bet it'd be good in other lighting conditions too.
A recent photo of rock, barnacles, periwinkles and shadows at Marshall Point, Port Clyde Maine. Most people come here to photograph the lighthouse (of Forrest Gump fame, and many postcards and calendars). The rocks here are fantastic though.

Thanks Jason. "Hole-in-the-Ground" (it's official name) is an interesting place. I would love to see it in a different light but we were just passing though. Actually, though it's almost impossible to see here, this is really a picture of my son. He's that little speck way down there in the middle of the trail. :-) Your picture is inspiring me to head out to the coast. I like the perfect triangle shadow with the white pebbles. It makes me think of a game board or some sort of inscrutable hieroglyphics.
Thank you. I really appreciate your saying that. I used Tri-X for the photo above. I've had some troubles with banding with my Noblex at slow shutter speeds (a common problem I gather) so until I get it fixed I've been using faster film as a workaround. It's something I'm going to have to get sorted out. Anyway, as far as developing goes, I've been outsourcing it for awhile now. For 120 I use Citizen's Photo here in Portland. They've never done me wrong, they have a very quick turnaround, and at five bucks a roll, it's worth it to me. I'm pretty sure they're using D-76, but in any case it's nothing exotic. Thanks again!
Thanks Renato; I was familiar with Moholy-Nagy but not Carl Chiarenza, so that's good for me to research. I have been studying other photographers like Paul Caponigro, Minor White, Coburn, Man Ray, etc.. We have many quarries here, so rocks are a ubiquitous material of shade/texture/shape here.
