Today was day one of a local festival celebrating southern Appalachian culture and music, where numerous groups of people will come together and jam to bluegrass standards on our historic square. The first couple shots off the scanner:

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it greatly. I, too, like the first better and can see the difference in style could detract from them as a pair. Frankly, I find I need to work toward developing a style that will bring more consistency and provide a thread, if you will, to pull my work together. Unfortunately, I am a gear addict and depending on my mood will produce a potpourri of negatives that have to stand on their own!!

Finally back to shooting after messing up a knee again. This is a 1922 Ace, found in a humble little 8000 sq ft "shed" in Northern Wisconsin. Lit with 4 small battery flashes. 500 c/m, 80mm lens, TriX w. yellow filter, scanned from film.
