    Mike, Pat, Louis, Tuco, Thank you. Honestly, I hadn't planned to make a photo, but as I sat there staring at my dad's ashes (and talking to them), the thought struck me that it was a picture. As a photographer himself, I know my dad would have understood.

    I scattered him a couple of different places in the Columbia River Gorge that day, including on the highest point of Horsethief Butte (below, at left). I like the fact that every time I pass by now, I can think of him and give him a wave.

    Me too, it's a very mysterious and evocative photo; I want to know what's behind that door!

    Midday shot in heavy inversion/fog. The stack was backlit by the sun.
