    I like this...it's visually calm, but at the same time has an almost eerie feeling about it. I think these two opposite emotions create a tension that works well, here.

    Do you recall, or can you suggest how to meter a scene like that?
    I've been in similar situations, but haven't gotten great results.

    Thanks. Some more interesting scenery would help too. I thought I'd go out and try again sometime but that sometime hasn't come yet. It's a big effort to use that lens. I used my one-degree spot meter and placed the moon 3-stops above the middle grey and bracketed +/- a stop. I used the +1 stop exposure which had the foreground density around the 0.12 range. It was in October and the atmosphere was heavy with dew/condensation once the Sun went down.
