Thanks - I was also thinking I liked the water droplets. So, probably will stick with the MF one.

This weekend I went back to Ruby Falls with my wife and my mom who was visiting. Wanted to experiment with my Noblex so bought some Delta 3200 and shot a couple rolls, developed in DD-X. Here's one - click to see bigger:

I know Ruby Falls / Rock City is the butt of a lot of jokes, in terms of the advertising and such. My mom said my dad never wanted to go because it was a tourist trap, so I wanted to take her. Of course it is, but it is an interesting natural wonder nevertheless. The shuffling in and out of people by the thousands is certainly a bummer. We got there at 7:45am to get the first tour, as I've done that before and the group was tiny, but being summer it was still packed this time. Also, there was a special tour that came in right before us, a bus-full of folks that were let in early. One of the tour guides told me they were taken straight to the falls with none of the movies/sound clips and then straight back out. I think their time in the cave was about 15 minutes. Looked like int'l tourists getting the speed tour of Chattanooga.

There's one just up the road from me, in a big open field that blooms with yellow flowers (weeds) sometimes in the spring. Gotta get a photo of that someday, but it's just off the road without much area to stop so I'll have to figure out how.

Well, shoot the 8x20 and not the Linhof(s) in case the backwash from a tandem-rig turns it into a parasail.

At any rate, I was just mulling over the fact that if I were a real photographer (and not just a reformed trout bum) the real show would be in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg each summer...definitely a multiformat extravaganza if you're looking for subjects.

    Corran,

Do make time to photograph that old barn. Each time I passed two local old barns I would say to myself that I needed to photograph them. Both collapsed before I got around to it. I'm still kicking myself.

Absolutely true, I have had a few photos in mind that were lost to time as well. CB - years ago I made a photograph of Gatlinburg on a ridge somewhere at dusk, with the lights glowing and the blue hour sunset light in the sky. I can't for the life of me find it though. Might never have made a jpeg of it so I need to dig into my archives (all the *.tiff scans are on my server and deleted from my local work drive).

Here's one more cave image I am happy with from Ruby Falls with the Noblex. I like the dark edges making a sensuous shape around the rocky surface:

At first glance, I thought it was the tail of a whale! Nice image.....
