    This is the problem with preview images; people use different screen resolutions and no one size fits all. Personally I don't like it when they are so small that any real detail is lost, but I appreciate that not seeing the whole image at once isn't ideal either. It's a balancing act. The easiest way around it for the viewer is just to left click the image and be taken to the original on Flickr, which will auto-size to your screen. Alternatively, right click the image and choose to open it in a new tab, which will have the same effect.

    In future maybe I'll try one size down for the previews.

    What web browser are people using? On the ones I use, this site implements auto scaling to fit large images to the vertical size of your browser's window or something along those lines.

    The default behaviour is to scale embedded image previews to fit the horizontal dimension of the forum frame, if the image exceeds it. There is no equivalent function vertically as that frame dimension is inherently variable based on post content.
