Alex - that's a killer tree. Love all the crazy trees you've been shooting. Don't see that often here.
At the beach last month...The granite and shadows is Siskind inspired, but I add some ice and perhaps make it sometimes less sinister.

Simple coated glass like a tessar (on my rolleiflex) and capable film like tmy2 are awesome for shooting into the sun. Winter tames the sun a bit too. This is high noon in December with the sun about 23 degrees above the horizon.
