    artar lenses

    Can you tell by the sn if an apo artar lens is coated or not. The lens in question is a 24" apo artar sn 778466. Thanks

    If it has a Red Dot, it's coated. If it just says APO it likely isn't unless Burke & James got ahhold of it and coated it. I have a 16 1/2" in the 750*** range that is not "Red Dot" but is coated.

    Mine is in the 835xxx range and is a red dot.
