    RIP Patrick Alt, 1950-2013

My dear friend Patrick Alts 3.5+ year battle with Cancer ended Friday evening, July 5, 2013.
Patrick passed at "the golden hour" just before 7PM.
He is survived by his siblings and his wife and partner of many years Melissa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in any amount to cancer charities of your choice.

Tracy, this is sad news. I was talking to Luther Gerlach about Patrick just the other day asking how he was. A wonderful craftsman as well as a fine photographer and friend.

Patrick's passing is a big loss to the large format community in so many ways. He will be missed.

Really sorry to hear about this! I didn't know him, but I knew about him. I saw a few of his lenses for sale a few months ago on eBay and bid on a few of them. I was curious about him so I did a Google search back then. Patrick Alt was born around the same time as my dad (1951) and I lost my dad to cancer in 2010. Both Patrick and my dad were too young to go. My thoughts are with his family and friends as they go through this terrible ordeal.

    Tracy,
You can't not believed this , his Tuscany Platinum book is right in front of me as i'm typing right now. What a big lost for our LF community . I was fortunate to met Patrick to share our Platinum print and helped me with my camera work. My condolences to Melissa and the family. In my heart you are the BEST Patrick. I will pray for your journey.
