Kodak 2D - lens element to fit this?

I just bought a Kodak 2D 8x10 camera that I want to use for wet collodion.

It has a Packard shutter, and this aperture iris element mounted on the lens board. Can anyone tell me what kind of a lens would go with it? It has 20 blades, and the word "Germany" and a serial number stamped on the front, top and bottom.

This is not an aperture iris, this is a universal mount for barrel lenses. It will hold in place any number of lenses that have their own aperture and whose barrels can be clamped in place using the "iris" on the universal mount, and that will clear the Packard shutter's mechanism.

This is a variable mounting "aperture" to mount any complete lens on, instead of a mounting ring. It saves you having to mount individual lenses on many boards.

These are very useful items (also now costly). You have to get experience of mounting and locking lenses before working over a hard surface!
They are not reliable when you get close to the extreme diameter possible (iris blades are bunched together). I don't use any lens over 1 kilo and Petzvals will interfer with Copal/Sinar shutters or simpler shutters like your Packard. I use mostly on 5x7 tailboard cameras with light lenses like landscape meniscus and RR's and F6 - f7 anastigmats. A service (very simple) is recommended if it hasn't been in regular use for many years.

This universal mount is probably worth more than you paid for the camera. You might give thought to selling it and using the money to buy a lens and shutter.

Wow, thank you everyone, for that good news!

Any recommendations for a lens that I could mount with this would be welcome - I don't need the ultra authentic look of the kind of lens that would originally have been used for collodion, I would like to get reasonably close to objects on a table and have nice drop off in focus behind them. With decent 8x10 coverage, of course.

Any lens that will fit should work fine. Shutter or Barrel - makes no difference.

A tintyping friend has just lent me a Rectinlinear No. 5, which fits perfectly into the adjustable mount, so collodion here I come!
