Can't figure this one out. I've used several different kinds of old shutters and their sometimes tricky sequences to get the shutter to stay open for focusing but this one defeats me. Your suggestions are appreciated.

A locking shutter release cable and the B setting? Also, check to see if one of the side levers is an open-and-close "Preview" lever, (though I'm sure you've already done this).
"I love my Verito lens, but I always have to sharpen everything in Photoshop..."
That looks like a 00. The one I had didn't have the press lock so a cable release and B.

Yes you need a cable release witch you can fix it open! If its the same as I had then it even have a 10 sec. self timer, for a group shot with photog;--))That looks like a 00. The one I had didn't have the press lock so a cable release and B.

Thank you all for your help. Simple operation if not elegant.
And yes, the self timer is nice.
