That would explain why later folks in the local bar asked me if I got the shot. They all knew where I had been by that time.

This is cool! It has a great combo of elements, with trucks, gas pumps, a tractor and a nice sky. Great Americana image.

Thanks Harley and Jim. Glad you both like it.
I'll look for others to add sometime soon.

I'd love to know what's there now - and hope its not a Walmart or the likes !

I go over Sangres to Mora NM frequently from Taos. It's a great semi decrepit town of old spanish influence. Not much change since I first visited about 1985. I don't specifically recognize the gas station image but there's a good possibility it's still there. Close by now is one of the largest alpaca ranches in the country. Just down the main road to the east is the splendid old adobe mill at La Cueva and the mission church on the Salman ranch - great photographic subjects.

Nice capture indeed! A night shot would be a strong image also with the old fashioned industrial light illuminating the façade, light from within, and beams illuminating the Conoco sign…talked myself into getting out more at night hunting for cool images like this.

I hate to say this but if the pictures here are a good indicator, rural America seems to be pretty well worn out.

Let's have a few more rural photos.

Sorry about the duplicated photo. I couldn't figure out how to remove it. ???
