    Dismantle Ansco Rear Standard

I am trying to get the metalwork off the rear standard of an Ansco 10x8, but they appear to be riveted through the wood. The metalwork needs a good clean and the wood needs all the lumps of glue removing and to be taken back to bare wood.

I could drill out the end of the riveting, but then it wouldn't go back on, so can anybody offer any advice?
