Thanks Dana from BS for a great new developer especially for portrait . The shadow does open up nicely.
I don't see a new developer designed for portraits at their website. Any information greatly appreciated.

    Hi Doug,
You have to call Dana for this . As far as I know he send me a sample bottle to try it out as wet plate shooters secret handshake.

I bought my 11x14 Carlton back then and it came with the original Pano 6x14 in back and holder. I planed to cut some film to use with this holder but never had a chance. Today I converted it to plate holder and here's my new work.

Im getting ready to start shooting collodion and need to locate a source for potassium cyanide in the US. I was a chemistry major in college so I'm up on the hazards.

    Very nice images.

    Thanks for your help!

I like the cyanide but for the price Ilford rapid fixer works just as well as gives similar tones and not as scary to store

I was wondering about formulary TF4 or 5? It's alkaline and very fast in action. My concern was causing damage to the emulsion. I guess it could be diluted more. What about the color of the image vs cyanides warm color?

With the Ilford they are pretty close. I've only used it and the cyanide. Still having small kids around, my girl asked me to find an alternative. I mix the Ilford by the directions on the bottle and haven't had issues however. I've been doing wet plate a month and someone may have better info than me.
