Scan of a 5x7 inch wet plate collodion negative, made with the Voigtlander Petzval lens. Collodion used: Coffer's #7 for negatives, and developed in Bostick & Sulivan developer @1:5.
Exposure was 6 minutes, which was pushing the limits of the medium: the artifacts on the image perimeter are the result of the plate starting to dry out at the edges prior to development. Thank you, Angels of Uncertainty!

I suspect you'd have gotten to this level without my help, Nick ;-)

Woo, that nice falloff is so nice. Surprisingly sharp in the center!

Here's a shot inspired by David Emitt Adams. Was more of a test to see what's possible. I'm limited by having to shoot upwards for now so that the prepared "plate" doesn't fall out of the dry plate holder when I pull the darkslide.

I have a project in a cemetery near my flat. Currently I have made some 30 plates but I am far from finished but can only photograph on weekends. Beethoven and Schubert used to be buried there but were moved to the new large cemetery which was opened in the 19th century and this one was converted into a park but a small area which was walled and is since only accessible by getting the key from the Vienna gardens authority which is responsible for the upkeep.
