i got 5.5 x 14 inch inserts for my 11x14 plate holder. its a great format.

this one is a burnished ambrotype. the scan is tricky but the finish is distinctly silver

My portrait appointment had to cancel last minute due to a family emergency, so I figured everything was already set up, why not shoot 2 of my favorite cameras. Not the best images, but not horrible for my first still life, done at the last minute.

Who teaches Wet Plate near Toronto Ontario?? Or in Buffalo, Rochester area ?? I am interested.

Mark Osterman, at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, teaches many alternative processes, including wet plate. A bit of a drive around the lake, but his workshops are very good.

Just a side note, Anyone with a 4x10 camera who might be interested in getting a wet plate holder for your 4x10 camera. Im looking for a couple others to share an order of Chamonix 4x10 wet plate holders. Min order of 3 so me and 2 others or I might just buy 2 if I can't find someone else.. Im that interested in trying some work with this format. If you are interested PM me and Ill let you know all the info.
