I'm pretty sure I posted this somewhere in the past, but I couldn't resist sharing it again. This was by far the coldest weather I've ever tried to photograph in. I'm not sure of the exact temperature but I'm sure it was below zero. I remember my wooden camera was making these strange little creaking noises and I actually thought it might splinter. Needless to say, it was a difficult condition to photograph in and the negative's a little soft, but I still like it as a memento.

Chilly cascades, cascading down the N. Cascade Range, Washington state.

No sign of this creek in summer when it’s dry, nor winter when it’s frozen under deep snow.

Here it is in April, emerging from hibernation. (A joyful sound.)

I haven't lived many places where it snows, so my backlog of snowy winter images is thin, but I hope this counts.

My son after a March snowstorm on the Palmer Divide, Colorado. That winter I quit keeping track after 200 inches.

I don't think I have posted this before, probably because of the crappy scan showing a complete lack of tonal range and no highlight detail at all.

And one from after I decided to never bother trying to scan any more of my prints with my crappy scanner because I could get the same results by just taking a picture with my iPhone while the print was still in the fixer.
