    Re: Vacuum Frame Question

I have the medium one. Works well, I use it to make 11x14 carbon prints. I have no real complaints. The vacuum is sufficient although not amazing, but you donít need much to make good exposures; the...

Re: Exposure compensation for small apertures

It can definitely be encountered, but not at small apertures.

For example, I have a few f2.8 lenses for 4x5 so if I used them wide open for outdoors portraits with Hp5+ (iso 400) at 1/500 I would...

Right, except that my question (still) is whether it will create a radial effect due to the position of the shutter within the lens. Or will it be a uniform under exposure across the entire film...

    Exposure compensation for small apertures

Right, right, Dan, Iím not saying the mechanism is the same, Iím asking whether the shutter opening slowly relative to the overall shutter speed (eg if it takes 1/1000 to open and 1/1000 to close and...

    Exposure compensation for small apertures

Just curious even if itís clear that this doesnít happen commonly in practiceÖ. since the shutter is usually (for modern lenses on copal shutters at least) somewhere in the middle of the varios glass...

Carbon fiber is not as expensive as it used to be even 10 years ago, now, non-aerospace grade carbon fiber is $10/pound. But to your point, ďwhy?Ē ó I donít know, itís certainly unnecessary.

    Re: Arca-Swiss lensboard Adaptor

I have the Luland version but for 171x171mm (the Oschwald era of Arcaís). It just works. Wouldnít hesitate recommending it. I have no reason to believe the 141mm version will be any different.
  10. Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

Of course ó Iím merely pointing out that since each one costs $100, other options exist to those that cannot afford ďthe solutionĒ. Everything in life is a compromise.
  11. Re: Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

Thatís exactly right ó and itís IMO disappointing that Chamonixís response is just issuing a warning instead of taking responsibility and replacing the camera. It used Linhof type lensboards and they...
  12. Re: Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

Well, then maybe take a sacrificial lensboard, file it down until it fits, snuggly but not too hard, measure the new thickness (right where the camera tabs are), subtract a slight bit of margin for...
  13. Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

Another option if you donít want to file and repaint, would be to ask Luland for a custom lensboard version that is sufficiently thinner. They do custom stuff like that. They might even cost the same...
  14. Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

This seems surprising as the Luland boards are not particularly thick. I mean, actual linhof brand boards are a few tenths of a mm thicker than the Luland.

How far off are you in thickness...
  15. Adjusting tabs to hold lens board on Chamonix 45 N-2

As many others, Iíve been buying lensboards from Luland for many years and the fit perfectly, all the time, on all my Chamonix. You canít go wrong with them from a price/value standpoint either.

Re: E-6 capacity / min volume

4x10 how does it work and what do I need

Interesting. I dropped 6x17 for 4x10 because I can contact print and get a nice looking print. 6x17 is a bit small and my enlarger only handles up to 4x5.
