  1. Re: How To Keep Aperture Open on Linhof Technika 75mm Super Angulon F5.6 Lens?

Hmm. That lens should be in a Synchro-Compur #0 or a Copal #0, not a #00 as I believe Steve thinks. Compur is more likely than Copal.

By an odd coincidence, I have one Copal 0 and two...

    Re: Aperture indicator not aligned

Mike, I can't speak for the OP's lens and shutter but mine's diaphragm opens fully. When fully open the aperture indicator is slightly to the "larger aperture" side of "5.6". The diaphragm is,...

Re: E-Bay and PayPal: What should I know?

This forum isn't the best place to sell, um, exotica. People here are cheapskates and not very interested in cult lenses.

For example, I once bought a 200/2 S.F.O.M. lens. This is an aerial...

    Re: 65mm lens comparison

Um, er, ah, with a 75 mm lens centered on the gate the corners of 4x5 will be 2 stops down from the center. Decentering movements will darken the corners shifted away from more. Some images can...

    Re: 65mm lens comparison

Oh, come on, Bob. Although Nikon and Fuji didn't make center filters for their w/a lenses, there are Rodenstock and Schneider CFs that do well on them.

Jimbo, use the list to find manufacturers'...

    Re: 30cm Heliar on 4x5

Hmm. It could be in a Compound #5. See https://web.archive.org/web/20190404182944/https://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/voigtlander_2.html

Recommended for whole plate, not 8x10.

Re: KODAK AERO EKTAR F2.5 on EBONY SV45TE

Using a fat lens in barrel such as the 7" Aero Ektar is much easier on a Speed Graphic.

Think a little about how you'd like to use the lens. Film speed, lighting conditions, and shooting aperture...

  12. Re: Adapters: Petzval to Leaf Shutter and LF to mirrorless . . .?

Front-mounting is an old, old idea and has been done many times with many sizes of lenses and shutters.

And there's the big problem. Many sizes. One possible solution is an iris type lens holder...

OP, you are mistaken about the 1210/12.5 Apo Nikkor's image circle. According to Nikon literature and as was pointed out in post #3 above, it covers 40 degrees. This means an image circle of 880 mm...
