The crowdfunding campaign was supposed to end at midnight, March 11th.

However, you may have noticed that the countdown timer was still ticking away this morning, clearly in violation of the...

Here's the executive summary for those that don't want to bother with the details (click here for all the details):

Poll: Re: Perception of self-publishing v. publishing

Self-publishing is not new. Many famous authors were self-published: Mark Twain, Charles Dickens etc. It wasn't until the middle of the last century that "trade" publishing took over.

    Re: Fomopan 100/R09 disaster

Fomapan does not have edge imprints. (In fact, Fomapan 100 and Fomapan 400 both have the same notch code!)

If the developer was completely exhausted, I doubt any imprints would show up.

    Re: SP-445 Just Arrived

    Esearing has a good point.
If you're only using one holder, be sure to fill to the "450ml tab" (it will take about 480ml).
Personally, I always fill to the "vent hole" because it's easier to see.

    Re: SP-445 Just Arrived

Designing the hold down fingers (tabs) was trickier than you'd expect. They can't be too tight or there's no flow under them; can't be too loose or the film will slip out. Film also varies in...

Anyone recognize this? It's the focal plane shutter on the back of a Ilford PIM camera but I'm not sure it was originally with the camera. Any idea where to find parts?

  17. Re: What caused this "half moon dot" in the attached photo?

    Dave,
Appears to be in the emulsion; part of the image.
    No dust, dirt etc.
Might have it on another negative as well.

  19. Re: What caused this "half moon dot" in the attached photo?

The only time we've seen the SP-445 film holders interfere with processing, is when the negative is loaded in backwards (we've had several customers admit to that.) That leaves very distinct vertical...

Don't think you'll get it through on vent side; you could glue it the Fill/Drain cap. Here's another idea we're kicking around:

Temperature Compensating timer for the SP-445

We're looking into building a temperature compensated timer specifically for our SP-445. Basically, it would monitor the temperature and adjust the time according to the standard processing tables.

Thanks but I've got one. BTW, you're missing the agitator rod. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't think you'd get much agitation, the film holder doesn't have any room to wiggle.
