Glycin makes a difference in tonality. I call it the "Glycin bump". In negatives it brightens the upper midtones and in prints it makes lower midtones richer. I've observed that with multiple...

I've used an LED in my 35mm Focomat 1c before. I thought I would give it a go. Worked fine but had a slight delay turning on. I went back to incandescent. I might have kept using it if there wasn't a...
Tiltalls are great. I have a mint old Leitz one I lucked out finding years ago. One downside though is they can't get low but they are one of the best options out there. I chopped off the head and...
Personally I think of lenses with respect to coatings. There is an obvious spectrum from uncoated to multicoated. Similar coatings give similar results regardless of the manufacturer. Later...
Staining developers and old film is no bueno in my experience. The stain just adds more base fog. Rodinal with sulfite has been the best for me but I haven't tried everything.
I used some lighting gels once, don't remember if they were Roscos, in front of a pinhole camera. It was obvious they caused banding so the gels aren't uniform. Whether or not that would affect your...
Lumen prints are the easiest thing to make with old paper. You just need a contact printer, a negative and some fixer. Leave it out in the sun all day and Bob's your uncle!
I never buy old paper...
I use a hip pack instead of a backpack. Not sure why everyone else doesn't do the same. It is so easy to carry everything with one but I do keep the camera on a tripod and carry it over my shoulder....
After using PMK for years, then switching to Pyrocat for 15 years I switched back to PMK a few years ago. After doing a deep dive I found the highlights were nicer with PMK. I only print on VC...
Interesting. It does say Germany on the plunger though. I figured it was for some old shutter. Figured someone here would know.
I figured out the large one was for the really old Hasselblads.
I bought a bunch of cable releases recently to get the two I was interested in and two of the others are odd. One has a square thread and one is pretty large. The large one is I think a Voigtlander...
Ive used Bloxygen but Butane is cheaper and easier to get. I doubt I'll use Bloxygen again after trying it.
I saw the prints from War Photographer back around the turn of the century at a museum. The experience of seeing those amazing prints as large as they were from probably Tri-X and a Canon made me...
Grafmatics are great but you have to keep them in shape. Septums need to be straight and hold the film tight. If you pinch the ends a bit then the film will be held firmly. You don't want a sheet to...
I have some of the Kodak equivalent of the Xray clips. IIRC I cut them from some sheet film hangers then drilled a hole in them. Would have been much easier to just buy those clips. Where were you...
I have both an RHDesigns Zonemaster meter and a Darkroom Automation meter. The Zonemaster gets me super close. Usually one test strip to verify and often the first print is pretty good. Second print...
Thanks Randy.
Should you be able to do it? Sure. Why not? Ain't rocket science.
Glossy/glossy. Air dried. The Foma was Fomabrom VC 111 just to be clear.
I occasionally use mat papers. The lack of density wouldn't bother me as much with a mat paper.
Holga WPC pano pinhole camera.

Wet time might have something to do with it. I used to leave my prints soak overnight then they would be wavy when they dried. I stopped doing that and I don't get many wavy prints these days. Not...
I have a friend who used a certain Kodak paper. When Kodak announced they were quitting paper, a friend of his who was well known bought all of it in NA and had it sent to him. Things like that...

White Sands. Handheld Polaroid 110 conversion.
I'm curious who is doing this.
Sodium Sulfite
Water
Tray
Doesn't get much easier....
If you are going to cover it with enamel then I'd suggest sticking with enamel paints, or mixing your own.You don't really want to cover one medium with another as often they are going to cause...
Twenty years ago when I started profiling printers I was like, "I bet you could do this to make color prints with alt processes" but I was too lazy to do it. Glad someone else did. His prints are...
I use whatever is available. Probably used all the above suggested items. I like the thick washerparacord idea.
I also have an old Craftsman 1/4" stubby that was my father's and is older than me....
I don't even bother with a formula anymore. I put a small spoon (very small, smaller than a baby spoon) of ferricyanide and bromide in water for the bleach then just chuck some sulfide into some...
Mark, I've never colored ambrotypes but back when I was young I hand colored photographs quite a bit and before I took up photography I painted. If I were going to do it I would start with oil...
I believe they have a coating of silicone on them, so I woudn't.
I stopped shooting Foma large format film years ago when I realized that I was making two of every exposure to make sure I got one good one. No point to that at all since it is more expensive than...
I agree with a lot of the above.
Daido Moriyama hasn't been mentioned yet.
Most of them are going to be real old. The real question is who are the young photographers that will be on the list...
I spent a few years shooting these. Got a bunch but I'll stop here. I don't like thread hogs..

Thanks. I try.
Another Holga Pinhole. The camera has a Realitysosubtle pinhole replacement and a bunch of other modifications like flocking and a spirit level.

You don't need a high resolution scanner for just a submission. Any scanner will pretty much be fine. Cross one bridge at a time. An older Epson or Canon or even HP would be fine for the submission...
Spot metering for a beginner is a bit of a can of worms. I'd suggest with your budget to get a Luna Pro SBC, which has already been mentioned. It is very difficult to go wrong with an incident meter....
