This may not answer your question, but I found these two docs helpful in understanding the history of the Jena Tessar lenses.

I've photographed this Monterey cypress four or five times, but this is the first time the fog has stuck around until mid-morning to soften the background.

Agreed! A lovely image.
Oooh, that's dandy. Love the sky, snd particularly like the four bright parralel lines carrying the eye into then distance. I like that the tonal range is of the image lets those bright features in...
I used a Stearman for a while, and would occasionally have a sheet that needed to be refixed and rewashed when a little spot did not clear because it was touching the plastic of the holder (Version...
With the money I spend on film, chemicals, paper, cameras, lenses, and other gear, I consider the suite of Lightroom, Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom Mobile to be the one of best deals in my photo...

I am going to amend my reply to note that my camera is the H1 and the largest lens I use is a 90mm Super Angulon. The base off the camera protrudes plenty far enough beyond the front element of that...
Fully retracted, the baseboard extends well beyond the front of a mounted lens. (Barring something ginormous, which you wouldn’t use with this camera.). Let me know private if you want a photo.

Very, very nice.
Absolutely lovely. An heirloom for sure.
Glad you like, Alan. I like the ease of set-up of the 45H-1. I was not sure I would like a single control for shift and swing, but I am getting used to it. It's a nice light, compact camera for the...

Absolutely lovely!
Not usually my kind of photo, but I admire the crossing of the two shapes--the echo in the figure of the hill in the background. Well seen.
Thanks, darr and Heronique. And thanks for noticing the framing on image 2, Heronique--very much deliberate.
Absolutely lovely! Like a lot.

On weekends, this fallen old giant is a big attraction for kids and families. On a recent Tuesday, I had it to myself.

Never having been a "professional" (except to shoot photos to go with my travel writing back in that lifetime), I am perhaps not positioned to comment on your core question. I will point out that...
Scanning artifact, me thinks. Good portrait, though.
Very impressionistic. I like.
I have cycled through Canham DLC and Walker Titan over the last few years, and previously through a Plaubel Peco Jr. and a Deardorff 4x5/5x7 which I NEVER should have sold, but at the time, I thought...

I posted the exact same query last Feb 2021 and tried Precision Camera per a recommendation here. They could not supply them. If you manage to find the clips and screws to attach same, I would...
Thanks, Tobias. I realized in the middle of the night that I was wrong about how the film would have been spooled onto the reel. As the first images they would have been on the outside of the reel...
I have been developing my own film with the same developer and process for years, and this is the first time I have seen anything like this. These first three exposures from a roll of TMAX 400...
To me the most problematic of these scans is the one of the church altar--not sure what's going on there, with some areas very soft. (I could not see an aperture noted for that one, which might be...
Thanks, Tin Can and Duolab. Yes, Duolab, I am fan of Tessar formula lenses in older shutters with round apertures. This 180 just got back from a shutter refresh by Carol at Flutot. Nice to have it...

Of course, understood, Neal.
"The 001015 recessed Comfort Board is the factory recommended board for the IV, V, Master, 2000 and 3000 Technikas."
Thanks for the clarification, Bob.
The OP states his 150mm lens is a 150/5.6 R-stock Sironar N. I routinely use this lens on a flat board on a Tech V and am able to close the camera with the lens installed.
The expert Canadian you mean may be Todd Korol. If so, I agree that he would be a great resource for newbies.
