Re: Who is shooting 20x24 film nowadays?

I do, but not often enough to show any of it. I built my own 20x24 camera and always find improvements to make.

    Lens release cables

I see that the old Azo Forum is no longer online now that Michael has passed. A few years back there was a discussion on what brand release cable he used and I was a German brand but I don’t think...
  4. Re: Kodak Master View 8x10 (KMV) reducing back for 4x5, compatibility

Some B&J backs don’t fit. I never found one that did despite others saying it would. I ended up making my own.

Re: Flat Field Focus on LF Lenses?

I tried using my 240mm APO Symmar for a flat subject fairly close and saw a donut shape in the focus, so fuzzy corners fuzzy center and sharp middle area. I took the Symmar out of the shutter and...
  6. Re: Unsharp Masking…Would I/Could I/Should I?

My video and Radeka's book follow the exact same instructions. It's easy to do, and only takes a little bit of effort with trial and error.
  7. Re: Unsharp Masking…Would I/Could I/Should I?

Just make a mask and then make a print. If you don’t like the results then don’t make more.

The Comparon may be an M42 size
  9. Re: Devere 504 lens mounts for Schneider Componon-S 150mm 5.6 and Schneider Comparon

The 150mm should have a 50mm thread mount. I think I had to open the hole on my 39mm DeVere board on my mini lathe.

    Re: Economical Continuous Lighting

I don’t know your budget, but B&H has the Godox SL60 on sale. It’s an led continuous light and takes Bowen’s S mount lighting modifiers. The more powerful versions are on sale too if you need...

    Re: Developer trays

I have a ton of trays but I don’t recall buying a single one. I have a lot of the red, white, and gray Patterson trays that I never use, and some 11x14 white(ish) Cesco trays, but my favorite are...

Re: Vitamin C developer for paper

Papers for use with an activator/stabilizer processor have a developer incorporated in the emulsion. Kodak RC papers did, Ilford does not.

As far as I’m aware he still uses 8x10 chromes from a Sinar F 8x10 camera.

    DeVere enlarger alignment video

The manuals for DeVere enlargers can be hard to find and expensive, so I made a video showing where the adjustment points are and how to align the 5108, 507, 604, and 203 machines. Hope this helps...
  15. Re: CatLABS X film, from Freestyle - any user information?

I don’t know about the sheet film version, but the 35mm Catlabs film (320) is just repackaged Kodak Double X 5222 movie film, same as Cinestill.

Re: Photography schools: USC or UCLA???

It honestly doesn’t matter which one. Galleries don’t care about the schools, just the work. Grad schools don’t care, just the work. Both schools have competent faculty and good facilities, so she...
  22. Re: De Vere 5108, negative carrier and timer questions

I had to replace the dial bulb when I purchased my enlarger 12 years ago. It’s worked fine since. It was a common appliance bulb if I remember right.
  23. Re: De Vere 5108, negative carrier and timer questions

I have anti Newton glass on the top part of mine. The nice thing about an authentic carrier, as opposed to a homemade option, is the way you can replace the 8x10 glass with smaller negative holders.
