Re: Cypress Hedgerows at Sea Ranch

You might check for tips with Paul Kozal at Studio 391 or Jim Alinder, local photographers and gallerists. Sea ranch is not gated, but you need a parking pass to park if not in one of the few public...

Re: Eastman 33a Missing 5x7 Back

Wouldn't it be better to take the dimensions directly from your camera, rather than someone else's back?

to add: those dimensions are better gotten from measuring your own camera as individual...

    Re: Cambo ground glass replacements?

    Re: Cambo ground glass replacements?

For that particuliar camera the fresnel surface should be on the viewer side, not the lens side. That way the ground glass surface is where it should be, equal to the depth of the film holder. Have...

    Re: Building an Enlarger

I think 300mm is going to be too long a focal distance to be practical. You could instead use your regular camera lens 4x5 lens like a 150mm or 90mm lens? There was a product called a Graflarger that...

    Re: Attaching bellows to frame

I think E6000 glue would work and the front frame being screwed to the front standard would hold well. The rear frame often has tacks or screws inside to help hold the bellows on.

    Re: Attaching bellows to frame

Often the front wraps around the outside of the frame and the rear inside the frame.

  13. Re: Flakey bellows. Suggestions for patching?

One idea is to use thin black photo tape, which sort of looks like black masking tape.
  14. Re: Focal Point is CLOSED

There are other companies that can polish and recoat if you can remove the element you want coated. In the LA area.

I was able to get replacements of the broken pieces by leaving a comment in the Travelwide Kickstarter page. Not sure if that way is working anymore?

Re: Are all grain focusing tools created equal?

For focusers with adjustable eyepiece and line, circle or other reference, your eye must be the same distance from the eyepiece when focusing as when you calibrated it. I guess that's obvious,...
  20. Re: Exploded diagram/Spare parts for the Calumet C-1

I got rid of all of the C1's a few years ago. Perhaps if you make all the mounting holes oblong you could adjust to suit.
  21. Re: Exploded diagram/Spare parts for the Calumet C-1

I think you are thinking of a different camera. The C1 has some small tabs on the side of the rail that lock up the rear rail. I believe he just needs some pieces of stainless that extend backwards...
  22. Re: Exploded diagram/Spare parts for the Calumet C-1

Do you have a picture of that? The C1 does not seem to have flat surfaces to mount that type of hinge.
  23. Re: Exploded diagram/Spare parts for the Calumet C-1

I think the parts missing is actually a pair of stainless rail guide for the front rail section, whose ends provide hinging. It should be fairly easy to make the hinging part out of thin strips of...
  24. Re: Sanuders LPL Masking Attachment Part Number 240-500

  25. Re: Sanuders LPL Masking Attachment Part Number 240-500

The masking attachment replaces the stage that the negative carrier rests on top of.

Re: Lens caps for Schneider ANGULON 90mm f6.8?

I use a 40.5 to 49mm step-up ring for the front and then a 49mm snap cap. For the rear, there exists a screw in metal cap, but may be hard to find.

    Re: TravelWide Repair Question

These parts mount to the inside of the camera with very small screws and the screw eyelets get broken when there's too much friction with the helical.

Which Calumet is it? A monorail Cambo or C1 flatbed? I believe Majestic does have a mounting cylinder available with 3/8 thread on the bottom, don't know how stable that would be.

  40. Re: Help-need an adapter or new plug to attach enlarger timer foot switch to control

I'm not sure how much current the phone cord can take or needs to take in this circuit. Maybe rewire the switch and hard wire it into your controller with lamp cord.
