Re: RA-4/color darkroom printing in 2021

Darkroom printing (be it b&w or color) is a handmade, directly involved process, and digital prints of any sort are simply not.

Also I never want to have to deal with an inkjet printer again and...

Yeah I agree with you Pali. One good thing though is it seems some folks really deep into the hobby will always buy the latest and greatest thing and sell off their old stuff cheaply, so I'm hoping...

Interesting! Any idea when the change happened?
  5. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Gotcha. Still not sure what the issue could be. My two bulbs above the developer aren't causing issues (with Fuji HR-U as well).

Re: safe haven for tiny formats

Wow! I can't imagine. You know I'm slumming it a bit with my 36-year-old C8 (I can see its failings when doing very DSO imaging), but I paid all of $400 for it along with accessories. I'm currently...
  7. Re: Use of X-ray film: technical discussion with example images

Two things. First, many of us are using that exact LED light, but not getting fogging. The only fogging I've ever had was from a traditional safelight too close to the film. I'm not sure what could...

Ultra-tiny format time! For when sensor size is a liability.

I finally did some planetary imaging, using video and "lucky imaging." I used my Celestron C8, a 2x doubler, and a ZWO ASI224MC camera...

Thanks all. Roger, the tracker I am using is a SkyWatcher EQ6R Pro. It's extremely heavy and capable of much larger loads. I've also used my telescope and DSLR rigged on top other times.
