I m planning on buying Sony A7R II so, i guess i will need some tube extensions? How much will it degrade its quality? Or
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the best possible system, in terms of quality, for scanning my 4x5 (and 6x7) negs but with money being a constraint high-end scanners are out of the question.
This...
How does it compare to Nikon 210mm or Schneider Kreuznach Symmar S 210mm?
There is a similar thread to this one but I figured it was about different version.
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a portrait lens and this one seems to be in the best condition with okish price.
Do you have any experience with it? Would you recommend it?
Thanks:)
Fuji Fujifilm CM Fujinon W 125mm f5.6
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a lens on eBay. The seller confirmed (a minor?) coating issue. Usually, I wouldn't be too concerned about it, but this one costs around 500 $ (+ tax + customs).
In your...
Thanks a lot!
Ahh, the main reason I was going for 125 CMW (instead of W on the outside of the barrel) version was the larger IC, but when i think of it I m not sure how much those 6mm of IC matter in practice:D
@all thanks for pointing out to different drawbacks of SW lenses.
@Joseph
Do you think the prices difference, between a single coat (inside lettering) vs CM W, tells a significant difference...
That much of an image circle is certainly not needed but I would rather have more and not use it than have less and long for more. Per my understanding sharpness is also something to be aware of when...
In the end I'm considering fuji sw 120mm f8, super angulon 120mm f8 and nikkor sw 120mm f8. I dont think 125s would work for me.
Would every one of those 120mm fit on my Chamonix 4x5?
@all
Thanks for your thoughts and advice. I have Chamonix F2 which I didn't actually plan to buy, as I wanted something cheapish with 6x7 back and 90-105mm lens but that didn't pan out as I wasn't...
I have 150mm Schneider Apo-Symmar f/5.6 and looking for something wider. I think ~ 120mm would be a good fit for me. As I intend to use it for architecture and some environmental portraits.
I think...
Welp let's hope for the best.
I measured it the same way I measured it before, with my iphone (and later my mac). I have chosen 1s to be my "victim" as its span is long enough for my iphone/mac to detect significant shifts.

Update 2. Got it back from CLA, now 1sec is 1.1 (previously it wast 1.3).
Just to give an update. I went today and left it for CLA. The guy said, judging by the sound, it could work better, that mechanical shutters need to be used and that he will call me next week when it...
Thanks for the advice on measurement. In case those initial inaccuracies are confirmed what is my best course of action? How probable is it to find one which is in case of a speed accuracy spot-on or...
The lens is in a pretty good condition, I would say it looks great. I live in South East Europe and I have a very limited pool of people who could do CLA.
Hi,
I recently purchased Schneider Symmar APO 150mm Copal 0. I conducted an improvised test with the shutter set at 1s, with the iPhone memo app. And got results varying from 1.2s to 1.28s.

Yikes, 50$ for a bubble level :D
How important are bubble levels on Norma? Can they be easily replaced, for some reason I think that could potentially be extremely hard? Starting from finding the correct bubble levels, figuring out...
@All,
Thanks for responding in a very easy-to-understand way.:)
I have been looking at intrepid but to me, they were a no-go as they seem too flimsy and me being a novice I want to eliminate as...
Hi,
In Which-field-camera-for-usage-with-90mm-lens I asked about which 4x5 camera should I buy as my first camera and Sinar F2 and Sinar Norma ended up as winners (cheap, beginner-friendly, lots...
Hi,
I'm considering buying Sinar F2, to be more specific, this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/174848902809

And Apo-Sironar-N 150mm F5.6 similar to this one...
I'm planning to use it for images of interiors and houses. I really want those parallel lines:) But I would also like to be able to shot portraits (ofc with a different lens). I'm not big on long...
@cuypers1807
Initially I thought I was going to purchase Chamonix 045N-2 but its price (1500$) combined with 30% of tax made me look towards something more affordable.
Are there any...
Which lens are you using? Are you using it with a special lens board?
@Benjamin,
How much recessed board needs to be recessed for Technika IV?
Hi,
I'm looking into buying my first LF camera, a field camera (mainly due to its size), with the intention to use it with some 90mm lens. Movements are the main reason why I'm buying it. Due to...
