    If a level isn't regularly tested and certified as accurate to a standard how would you know they are better than some of the "lesser levels".

    Make sure that the bottom of the film holders seat all the way. Even with a dark cloth covering the camera you can get light leaks. Don't ask me how I know.

    On another note, getting the proper rubber tubing and rubber bulb is somewhat important to the correct operation of a Packard shutter. A bulb that is too stiff or too flimsy won't be very reliable....

    Although I would love a Canham or Chamonix I settled on a like new B&J Commercial View 5x7. It has a 21in bellows, full movements and under 8lbs. I added a lens board converter for Linhoff boards....

    Remember that with movements that a normal lens hood may encroach on your image. I only use a lens hood on 4x5 with a large format 400mm telephoto lens since I never use movements on it.
