  1. Re: Is this coating issue something to keep in mind

If that concerns you, I’d suggest you simply look for another. They seem quite plentiful on eBay for a lot less than $500.

    Re: making shutter blades?

Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, this project might not be worth the effort. It certainly will be challenging if you do it, though.

    Re: Polarisation Filter

Which 150mm lens? That would help of figure out which size polarizer filter to get. Only other suggestion would be also to use a lens hood.

Which left us all in tears

Now all is well; let's buy and sell

And shoot film and chat while all is swell.

    Yes.

And yes using a “mediocre” dark cloth too.

A totally different question would be, “is a f/5.6 lens needed rather than a f/8 lens?”

    Re: 90mm f8 vs 5.6

It’s your thread but just like discussion of dark cloths, the topic of ease-of-focus and ease-of-composing was in the initial discussion. Composing is done, both, with eyes and on the GG. The...

Ben, you might want to start a separate thread on dark cloths. Many use a trade flat cloth very effectively.

And going back to the first post… I think most folks would say that brightness is more important for focusing than composing. What are you finding difficult when composing?

    Re: 90mm f8 vs 5.6

Yes, I always use a dark cloth to focus on ground glass. Not sure what you mean by a “real” dark cloth though. Mine make it dark so they should be considered real.

Iíve only used a 5.6 and itís bright. Quite a bit brighter than when it is stopped down to f/8. The downside is that itís big and heavy.

The slow speed escarpment is either defective or has been replaced incorrectly.
