Thank you, this helps explain that's going on. I can believe that I underexposed it while over developing.
Thanks, is dilution and dev time pretty linear relations (ie, I use half the amount of HC-110, I'd need to double the dev time)?
It's very contrasty to me, and I've been getting this recently as I've gotten back into 4x5 film development.
Subject was by a window, so I'd expect it's a bit of a difficult lighting situation, but...
Thanks for that info! (BTW, big fan of your YT videos)
Thank you! I'd forgotten about that site, I think it's been about 5 years since I updated it... such it is with social media now :)
Thanks - given this, is the Zeiss 135/3.5 a good candidate? I haven't been able to find many photos from it on line.
One of my favorite "looks" in all of photography are the environmental portraits taken with a Pentax 67 105mm/2.4 wide open... it's a pretty unique look of a normal view but shallow DOF.
Any...
just fantastic.
Some kind of fixing issue:

Gorgeous.
Beautiful!
Jose and StoneNYC, thanks very much for the comments. It's the first time I've taken the LF kit out in awhile, and messed up a few shots due to skipping an item here or there on my mental checklist...
With a 210mm and HP5+.

Liquid Artist, welcome and great start! I'm a novice as well, and have found that flowers can be a good way to start off in LF (they sit still and take direction well)..
Here's one from a bouquet...
Here's my first shot on the box of Acros 100 I picked up here last month. 210mm APO-Symmar, the Acros was developed in HC-110, 1:50, 12 minutes.

90mm Fujinon, HP5+ in HC-110 (1:50, 8min), Sinar P
hmmm... I looked at your last photo full size on flickr. Your daughter's face is actually in pretty good focus, and stopping down a stop or two would help things for the rest of the family. (maybe...
Robert, thanks!
The view from the breakfast table this Saturday.

Pete, this is quite great:
A bit of a quick set up, as I didn't want my espresso to cool before I got the shot off.

210mm APO-Symmar, HP5+, HC-110 8 minutes at 1:50
Oh,...
Just ordered the double-size from Freestyle. As has been mentioned, the familiar size is discontinued, but not the product. Freestyle also has their own copy of HC-110, if worse comes to worse.
This is fantastic! I love the diptyque presentation. The falls look sublime...
Denise, saw these on Flickr earlier- Fantastic!
John, thank you very much. Incidentally, it was your images in this thread from last week that nudged me to take the LF kit outdoors this weekend :)
I tired to compose a light and dark triangle here.

HP5+ in HC-110 1:50
Hi Raffay, I'm very much a beginner with 4x5, so others will be able to give better advice. For these shots, I used a Sinar P, and if I remember correctly, didn't have to use the extension rails to...
Fantastic!
Very cool photo!
Ah, looks like you guys have gotten a head start :)
thanks.
I saw this article and was very intrigued: http://www.addicted2light.com/2012/11/23/best-film-scanner-canon-5d-mark-ii-vs-drum-scanner-vs-epson-v700/
I have a 5Dii, a 100mm macro, and light box...
I think this is what I'm working towards eventually. How were you able to get that kind of DOF at f/16?
A couple from this morning. Both with a 90mm Fujinon SW on HP5+. Would like to hear feedback, thanks.

New to LF photography and have just finished assembling a kit containing a well loved Sinar P, a 210 APO-Symmar that came with it on ebay, and this lens, a 90mm Fujinon f/8 SW. I took everything out...
Ok, great. I was wondering if I needed pick up any additional bits to make it work.
thanks again.

Just picked up an old P on auction and noticed afterwards in the photo that the back looks different than the Sinar P I'm currently borrowing from my friend. The one I have in hand right...
Ivan, thanks for the encouragement!
Still working on getting a good 1:1 on large format. This is with a 90mm Caltar, HP5+
Feedback and advice welcomed.
