  1. Re: Were Verito 18” lenses made in different barrel lengths?

As others have stated, the design changed and I have both long and short 18" verito lenses. On top of that, the location of the lens flange can differ as well.

Re: 38 year old Polaroid pull-apart film advice

This is what you can expect ... those pods dry out and there's insufficient goop to spread.

For the rest, make sure the rollers are clean and free from debris.

  5. Re: Likely Very Naive Question, sheet film then scan to produce a digital print.

Not a naive question at all.

All my film is digitized and stored as such. Keep the negatives of course. I currently don't have a darkroom, so I'm limited to digital post processing and printing....

  10. Re: Adjustable Spacing in Jamin Darlot Petzval Lenses

Re: Lerebours Serial Number - Rice Writing

    Serial #10173,

Large (81mm diameter lenses) Petzval, no SRC (none expected with this serial number).

Front achromat seems to be re-glued a few times. Pencil marks all smeared out.

    Rear...
  13. Re: Hermagis Serial numbers Need your help with a database

    Nope, I missed it !

I have 2 or 3 Maugey lens cells with achromats (81 and 95mm diameter) and I don't believe they had Hermagis on them but I'll have to look again.

    Good find !

  19. Re: Ideas for new shutters 40 years from now when ours are all dead

The problem with the no-moving parts shutters are plenty. Total dark is an issue, not easy (or economically possible) to achieve with LCD or optical cell technology. You lose 1-2 stops by inserting...
