Re: MF (6x4.5,6x6,6x7,6x9,6x12) B&W film images sharing

Looks like this could be Route 66... a strong feeling of Americana, the west and dust-bowl-like plains and the sands of history.

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

I prefer the 2nd image... it is more calm and relaxing to me with the sunshine, water and clouds. The first appears more dark (in the foreground plants) and stormy (waves and clouds).

  7. Re: (Talk me out of) offering people at scenic tourist site to have their LF photo ta

I will admit that I too share this desire to make great LF portraits for others, even portable and on the street near a famous tourist attraction. Finding a good economical way to do it though is a...

Great work Cameron! This is wonderfully done - very impressive. Getting a classic soft overhead light through diffusion like that is exactly how all the old photography studios did it!

It looks like the app is no longer in the app store unfortunately, or maybe my iTunes and Apple Store apps are broken.

It looks really easy to use, I backed it also. I have also used the Shutter-Speed app for my iPhone, developed by Lukas Fritz in Germany, which uses sound or light (using a light sensing diode called...
  14. Re: Deardorff repair: popped rivet (?) on front metal standard fold plate / hinge

In the archives (Repairs for 8x10 Deardorff), I just found out this is probably a "split rivet" - so I will look for those in hardware stores.
  15. Deardorff repair: popped rivet (?) on front metal standard fold plate / hinge

On my Deardorff 8x10, the front standard folding plate has half of it's rivets (or nails?) popped out on the hinge. I'm wondering if there is an official way to fix this to it's original condition,...

    Re: 4x5 or 8x10 lens

Ok, I think it just finally dawned on me... I was confusing "crop" with "zoom". So 'a 150mm lens is 150mm lens is 150mm lens' all provide the same zoom amplification in the lens - making the subject...
