    The image forms on the inside surface of the ground glass...so the thickness of the glass should not affect focus.

    Since you have the glass, why not try it?

    In portrait mode, with the screw on the Fresnel on your right, the screen is held in place by a catch just below the screw. Hold the screw and depress the catch. The screen will release.

    Just an additional piece of info. Sinar told me that they can upgrade my X to P3 gearing which is more precise for €1800 and include a full CLA.

    I have tried. Connect flash sync on lens to PW to trigger the receiver on my Profoto strobe . It works. Make sure you set the lens to X sync.

    You can test it out without any film.

    Yes, thanks. Am aware of that...hopefully this is mitigated by the custom for Sinar 4x5 glass by both the mentioned suppliers. Of course, mileage may vary.
