I replaced mine with one ground from 8x10 picture frame glass, which measures 1/16 inch shorter than nominal on both axes. It looks like the retaining system can handle a decent range in size either...

A shot from Sam Houston national forest taken last week. I had to lose the end of the lower left limb so that I could block the morning sun behind the foreground trunk - could try an evening shot but...
Love that first image from the Dakota badlands, Sandy.
Thanks for the kind words Jon. Bisti is unlike anywhere else I have been - it really doesn't feel like earth anymore. The mounds in the second image are coal, some of which have been ignited by...

New Forest, England, May 2022. Fujifilm GW690 probably with a yellow filter, Arista Edu 200 @ 100,...
I'd recommend Leofoto's offerings too. The LN-364 I bought easily handles my Calumet C1, and is light enough that I never found it much of a burden on a recent 6 week backpacking trip. Fully extended...
Thanks for the kind words Peter, Jon, Tuco.
A few recent infrared images I took in the UK. The first in Wales and the second two in the Lake District.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Does the plate drying make it no longer light sensitive? I don't see why that would be the case. My understanding is that it only inhibits development.
Excellent work capturing the light.
For those interested in some further reading, here is a good paper on the subject: Film processing for maximum sensitivity at moderate contrast. It is written by Lockheed for aerial photography...
It probably depends on the camera, but at least for my Olympus conversion was easy. Remove a couple screws and connectors to reach the sensor, then lift off the glass filter atop it. After that you...
Thanks Ari. This was with a 950nm filter on the lens, but I had also removed the IR blocking filter in front of the sensor so that the camera can see the full spectrum. It might be possible to shoot...
Thank you, Peter and Tuco.
Here's one of mine, taken at Yellowstone a few days ago on an Olympus E-PL1 at 950nm.

Schneider produced a 240-255 f/5.6 zoom, designed for reproduction with the shorter end optimized for 1:1 and the longer for 1:0.61.
I recently purchased a Leofoto LN-364C for use with my Wista 45SP. While I'm normally a bit wary of using Chinese products for vital equipment like a tripod, it has so far performed excellently, and...
I thought some people here might be interested in the darkroom at my high school. The Beseler 45 on the left is mine, now taken home as I am graduating and moving to university.

An excellent use of infrared film.
Pan F @ 30 iso, HC-110 H for 8 minutes. 4x10" print onto Adorama RC, selenium toned. Zuiko 50mm f/1.8.
The symmetry in this image really makes it for me, particularly the horizontal sort of yin and...
The first two plates I have made in nearly a year. My technique has suffered, but I'm still rather pleased with the images.

Thank you for the kind words Uluphot, Peter, and Vaughn.
18 here. I've been shooting large format for about three years, film five, and in general ten. I hope to continue for as long as I can, but who knows what the state of film will be in the coming...
The longer lens (with a larger diameter opening) will cast more total light than the shorter lens, but over a proportionally larger surface area. Thus the light intensity is the same for both lenses.
Try mixing some new. Solvents in the varnish can dissolve images made with old collodion.
How old is your collodion?
Tartaric acid crystals. Shot on a Fuji X-T2 through a cross-polarized Olympus BH-2. I believe it was 40x magnification but I can't quite remember. I spent a long time just admiring different areas of...
I have heard mentions (I think in Ansel Adam's The Print) of light sensors being used as feedback to keep the light intensity of a cold head constant. If those diode symbols indicated photodiodes,...
8x10 Agfa green X-ray film @ 80 iso, 5 minutes in HC-110B @ 20C, Fujinon 210mm f/5.6, contact print onto Multigrade RC.
Somehow I managed to slightly miss focus on the petal. It's luckily just...
I have had success with black PETG at 30% infill -- the majority of my lens boards are such.

You don't zero the standards in that procedure, you keep the movements as they were. After finding the necessary aperture, place the focus in the center of the spread between the near and far focus...
I'm a big fan of this one. It's seems like its simultaneously a fun snapshot and a more serious portrait.

First successful image taken in the field with the 8x10. I'm still not sure if I actually like it.

If I recall correctly, there is no yellow filter layer in RA-4 paper, which would prevent it from ever accurately rendering color using an in camera exposure. I could be wrong on that though.
Thank you for the kind feedback everyone, it means a lot.
